The greatest fireworks show…ever
Well I braved the trains last night after work to go down to Portsmouth/Southsea and watch the so-called biggest fireworks display ever. So yeah, after have sprinting to Fareham train station to find the train I was aiming for was delayed anyway, I manged to get to Portsmouth. My god, never seen so many people in my life before. Think that was about 8:30…met up with everyone and we ended up walking the whole of Southsea seafront. Our aim, to find a spot to see the sea. Realistically, we needed to be there at like 8 am. So we ended up at the War Memorial after queuing for food for like half an hour.
However, the fireworks were awesome - it has to be said. I didn’t realise beforehand that they were set out to go with the whole story of Nelson’s death and the battle. Thought it was just a show. But it worked out pretty cool. But the smiley face firework had to be the best out of the lot. Was so cool. Shame I didn’t get photo though.
And then, about 11:30 when I reached the entrance to Gunwarf car park to find about 3,000 people trying to get into the train station, I gave in and was defeated. So ended up walking all the way back to town to stay at Jamie’s…interesting account of the night I think
