All go  0

Has been a very long time since I posted on here but just been so busy with uni life and all that. It’s crazy. So I thought I’d put some new words up here really, nothing big.

Chaving it up, mush!  0

So I was cool and did the “How Chav R U?” test and first question - Have you ever purchased something from Co-op, Iceland or Hyper Value? Think was a bit unfair seeing as I work in a Co-op and now seeing as I’m a student don’t have much choice to where I can shop so frozen food is bought from Iceland and other crap from Tescos next door. Never mind.

Not too bad lol ;)

So in just over 36 hours I’ll be leaving the country. Technically. Last time I checked Wales is still another country. But anyway, off into the big wide world - but still a student which is great.

University! Bit daunting that I have to cook for myself. I’ve been making the odd few dinners now when parents are away/late but to survive on my skills for the next 3 months should be interesting. Can’t wait though. Kinda the whole reason that I have this beast of a laptop though.

An ode to the PowerBook  0

PowerBook

So I’ve finally got my bright and shiny 12″ PowerBook - is so great :D I’m not used to this amount of speed due to using my dying iMac for what seems like forever.

Took me about an hour to copy all my music, photos, desktop pictures, ical calenders, documents…well you get the idea lol.

Currently it’s special place is my desk in my room. And the desk hasnt been cleared since I finished college about 3 months ago. But as soon as I found this was the best wireless spot, well all the crap found new homes.

Looks like this site might be starting to get a few more (random and crap) posts ;)

Four years on…  0

Posted on September 11th, 2005, early in the evening. About General.
The anniversary of September 11th is upon us again. A lot seems to be happening in America at the moment. I don’t think they’re quite used to things happening in their own country to this degree. I didn’t realise that they were in the midst of planning a new commercial building for the Ground Zero site. The ‘Freedom Tower’ apparantly, but that’s not due to be finished until 2011.

I’d never realised how many NY firefighters were killed at the World Trade Centre site. Apparantly, 343 died, which is 12% of the total victims. That’s a lot. They’re meant to be putting a memoral up for the victims but that won’t be finished for another 4 years. I mean, 8 years to create a memorial? Take their time.

I’m sure they’re in many people’s prayers and minds today - but for their families and friends, every day.

Madagascar  0

Right so I saw this film quite awhile ago now, have to say, definitely not the best around. The one-liners for 3 minutes on the tv ads are enough. But 1 1/2 or 2 hours of this and it does start to get slightly boring. It was quite a short film I think but it felt so long. But the graphics were pretty sweet. It weren’t that bad I guess - the kids in there seem to enjoy it.

London blasts  0

Holy crap. How bad was those blasts in London? I mean, ok, nowhere near as bad as 9/11 but this is totally different. So many people died in 9/11 but it was such a one-off thing. Whereas, the London blasts just happened in rush hour on a normal week day. I mean, it’s so cowardly and stupid. What’s the message they’re trying to get across? That they can bring a capital to stand-still? Well they did that, congrats.

I guess it was kinda due that something was to happen to the UK. After all, Blair can’t do anything on his own. He waits to see if Bush does it first. But this is ridiculous. Just a normal day then they blow up tube stations and a bus…stupid.

Edit: I can’t believe the guy who blew up the bus was just 18! That’s so wrong. He had so much left of his life but he was willing to kill himself and plenty of others. It’s so young. Arsehole. Where to being with the insults…

War of the Worlds  0

So saw this film the other day, and I have to say, it was pretty damn good. I won’t spoil anything for people but the endings a bit shabby. Mainly because the films still going and like 5 minutes before it’s due to end they stick in an ending. Hmmm…however, the special effects are pretty neat. I was a bit sceptical because usually aliens look pretty shite in films but these ones were alright actually. Anyway, all in all, a decent film.

The greatest fireworks show…ever  0

Posted on June 29th, 2005, around evening. About General, Random Stuff.

Well I braved the trains last night after work to go down to Portsmouth/Southsea and watch the so-called biggest fireworks display ever. So yeah, after have sprinting to Fareham train station to find the train I was aiming for was delayed anyway, I manged to get to Portsmouth. My god, never seen so many people in my life before. Think that was about 8:30…met up with everyone and we ended up walking the whole of Southsea seafront. Our aim, to find a spot to see the sea. Realistically, we needed to be there at like 8 am. So we ended up at the War Memorial after queuing for food for like half an hour.

However, the fireworks were awesome - it has to be said. I didn’t realise beforehand that they were set out to go with the whole story of Nelson’s death and the battle. Thought it was just a show. But it worked out pretty cool. But the smiley face firework had to be the best out of the lot. Was so cool. Shame I didn’t get photo though.

And then, about 11:30 when I reached the entrance to Gunwarf car park to find about 3,000 people trying to get into the train station, I gave in and was defeated. So ended up walking all the way back to town to stay at Jamie’s…interesting account of the night I think ;)
